I wanted to vote in your poll on "One Nation Under God". I did not because I agreed with all three of the "No's" and was not able to do vote for all three.

The comments you wrote about "Atheist challenges 'In God We Trust" were very interesting.
I scrolled through most of the comments saying if you don't like "God" then leave, and when I came across yours, I was surprised, usually most of the comments are offensive, but yours had information and a quick history lesson.

Let me just say that as far as the History books have taught, there wasn't a ship or ships full of atheist that had a drive to have the freedom that they would give their lives for. No, Mr. Patriot, it is you that are reaping the benefit of living in a country where people sacrificed their lives, their homes, their families, their only sense of normality for a cause that they believed in. That cause was to worship The Lord God Almighty (and not Ali or any other God) freely. Christians were not allowed to read the Word of God before they came to this land. They were only allowed to listen to the priest read. They had a passion and they committed to it. The constitution was written with the frame of mind that men were God Fearing human beings. You are not denied the right to live here or have an opinion but think of this. If those brave people didn't put feet to their faith then you my friend would not be here today sitting at your computer giving your opinion. You may live in a socialist country, under a dictatorship, or maybe you wouldn't have been born at all. You think about all the wonderful things that have happened in this nation because a few people committed their lives not just to a cause but to GOD himself. Whether you believe in God the Father, the son and the Holy Spirit or not, that is not relevent. What is relevant is that without that commitment from those people, God's people, you wouldn't enjoy the patriotism that you so proudly claim. I ask you.. did you serve in the military. What exactly have you sacrificed for your country or for anyone that you can call yourself a patriot.

Thanks for being a voice of logic & reason. I cannot believe how many people have faith in something they know so little about. I have been asked how I got to where I am on relogious subjects. I tell them to read all of the bible & make a decision. Every atheist, agnostic & freethinker I know got there by thinking and making a concious decision not to be detered by the pressures placed on us by the faithful.

With all due respect I will inform you sir that the statement "In God We Trust" is not a religion but just what it is, "A Statement". I now have to assume you are not very well educated because of the statement you are making is way out there in left field. Any one person who says it is putting a religion into government is not very well educated or even a person who is very knowledgeable about the Constitution or the May Flower Compact. If you need to understand more, try traveling the world and seeing what it looks like through the eyes as a Soldier for 20 years or more, and then and only then can you open your mouth about anything. Have a Great Day Sir at the expense of the Soldiers who protect your rights and freedoms you seem to forget how you keep them. My God Bless You.

Holier than thou. My god can kick your god's rear. You sure stirred up a hornets nest. All these folks have to do is study just a little archeology and then tell me how how all this nonsense about religion still makes any sense what so ever. The ole story of Adam and Eve that has been pilfered from one religion to another...starting with Judaism and then Christianity and then Islam. Please take a look at archaeological findings regarding Gilgamesh in modern day Iraq and note the similarity of the same stories....do take a close look at the dates. As Gilgamesh predates Christianity by 5000 years. Once you get this reconciled and still want to hide your heads in the sands of religion....then I guess everyone of us entitled to our delusions. Look for similarities between modern day religions to Paganism. There should be no doubt among the open minded....." Man is not the creation of God....quite the contrary God is a creation of mans mind".
What value religion does serve can be argued either way quite effectively. If the purpose is to divide and conquer or to keep the flock together that has been the most prolific and sinister use of it and if it has been used to keep the flock from moral depravity....that too has been done with some success.
Purpose aside the fact is a fact and the only question remains do we choose to be delusional or are hedging our bets. I will gladly err on the side of sanity and take my chances.
Before I get carried away with my own take and do forget Patriotic American....excellent work.

I would suggest that if Mr. Nedow is so offended by accepting currency and coins with "IN GOT WE TRUST", that he should simply not accept any form of money. This would please a CLEAR MAJORITY of the citizens, as most of us are GOD LOVING CHRISTIANS. Our nation was built by CHRISTIANS and has always been a CHRISTIAN NATION. My first choice would be for Mr. Nedow to PRAY TO JESUS to FORGIVE HIM OF HIS SINS and become a GOD-LOVING citizen like the rest of that.

If he can't to that, perhaps Iraq or Afganistan would take him in and allow him to practice his Atheisom there.

Our country was founded on IN GOD WE TRUST and it should stay that way, if you don't believe in God you should go somewhere that believes as you do, if you can't conform to our mode of dress and lifestyle then go back to where they do as you do, and if you think it is better to live your life on the edge then so be it BUT don't come over here and think just because you do a little studying and sign a few papers you have the exact same rights as the American born and bred because you do no. I am sorry for those who have no options and want to help them in any way possible BUT if you have options and come to this country to live THEN CONFORM and live like us and with us...not trying to change stuff to your ways and liking.

You don't scare me, but I am afraid for you. You seem to have a bad view of religion and that's your choice. I don't know what happened in your life to make you feel this way, but I pray that you make peace with yourself. Your writings are full of angst and venom. Whatever you think of religion is not important, but what you think about Jesus is. I'm sure Jesus is not too happy with His representation sometimes, but there is much more good if only you looked for it. God forgives, even to the last end, but you only have this life to decide if you need forgiveness. Please make the right choice; you don't want to have to spend eternity dreading your decision. Have any of you even attempted to inform-yourselves about this mans character? He has served our country, got out of the military and pursued a degree then returned to duty to defend your right to worship any god or gods of your choice or not to worship any deity. Is your faith is so fragile that you must FLAME this soldier? If that is the case I would recommend that you find a new god or gods, one or more, that gives you the wisdom and strength to accept that all people will never agree about anything, even gods.

I am not surprised that none of you have posted photos of yourselves, that speaks volumes about your strengths of character. To hide who you are and cast stones at a good man who has not questioned your faith just the "coinage of the realm" is sad, after reading this crap, I am glad my gods can kick your god in the ass. :)

I feel that the people that want to live in a country that does not honer God should probably go and live in a country that has the same views and stop trying to take away the rights of all the Christians that believe in God and want to give him Glory.

I think that there are a lot more people that are Christians so why do the courts cater to the atheast just because they yell the loudest, well I for one am sick of it because our rights as Christians are slowly being taken away, just like the prayer when it was taken our of our school we stood by and let one loud mouth women take away our rights and I say enough.

Have you ever read the bible? No, I have NOT blindly followed what others have told me. There is so much factual information with in the bible. So maybe you're the one who picked up a book one day and blindly followed what that told you? I questioned and found answers within the bible. The reason people are trying to open your eyes is because they know what is in store for you and they care. I am not angry with you in any way for your beliefs I just think it is sad the path your heading down and your logic behind it. If you have studied and studied what proof have you found that God is not here or has not always been here? Christians do not hope that we got it right and that those of you who don't have it right burn in hell. I pity you. It makes me sad to think that someone who "studied" so hard could not see what is right in front of him. You have no proof of how the world became, believing in God is to have faith and for some reason I just don't think you will ever change your mind so I will move on to someone who has a little hope. I would love if nobody had to ever burn in hell. I will just pray for you because that is the only thing anyone can do, there is no point to argue with you because you think your right, but have no idea why that is.

I would love to know how you think this world started if there is no God? Even as far back as science can take us there is still no logical starting point, so where did every thing come from? People who don't believe in God will pay in the end and I guess that is all that matters, it is just sad that your parents never taught you anything and for that will spend eternity in hell.

Beliefs.....what are yours? Religious beliefs aside, what about it being instituted as our national motto? It doesn't specify a God or the Catholic church or any other church, temple, synagogue, etc. It doesn't matter what your religion is or what God you pray to, it envelops all of us as a nation of people.

"Patriotic American" -- What you describe sounds like freedom from religion, which works for the communists but hardly American. I've got another survey for you -- find out those that want "In God we Trust" removed and ask a follow-up question. How many of you have fought on foreign soil for America? Have you ever READ the Bible? No where does it command the killing of "non-believers." As a matter of fact, it says to do honor and justice by your neighbor and foreigner amongst you alike.

What in the world do you have to lose if you believe in God? You have more to lose if you don't. This is America and how dare people coming from other countries and other beliefs want to change what has been in America for centuries. I want my American flag, I want God's name on my money, and I want to pray whenever, wherever I feel like it. I will always say the Pledge Alliance to the Flag and be proud of my country. I believe in the bible and the people who don't believe in any of this just don't pray, don't read the bible and don't do the Pledge of Alliance. When we go to another country we have to do what that country does so why in the world is our country allowing this to happen. Wake up America. I am one of those stupids and I am an American, and as an American I have a right to defend my stupid views. If I don't defend them then people like you will take them away. Ok, you don't have to come to my way of thinking, even God gives you that right but at this time in our country everything is ok to speak openly about except Christianity. The anger and bitterness in your comment are very evident, and cause great sadness to those of us who bow our knee to Jesus. The Bible is the Word of God, the Creator of the universe, written in 66 books through inspired humans of all classes from shepherds to preists,over a two thousand year period, in four continents. All the passages have the same theme - the redemptive plan of God for theCrown of His creation. Do you really believe we are nothing more than slime from the sea? How sad. How hopeless. Since the United States was founded on Christian beliefs, atheists have the right to leave the country if they want too. Move to many other countries who persecute Christians. You will be happy there. Understanding the Constitution means you must understand the history of the originators. England had a "state" religion. which was Protestant. The church had power equal to the government and had influence over government policies. The U.S. Constitution was written to forbid the ability of a church to influence government policies. Atheists have twisted this and liberal judges have made laws on the bench to distort the Constitution. I have a PH.D in Constitutional Law. But to many since you do not research will not do any critical thinking in this process. The other rule of law is the majority rules. The other thing I would address to atheist is if they provided assistance as much as the church community would may be I would listen. However, you do not see a league of atheists helping victims of tragedy. Plus Athiest are a small part of this world, they beat a drum and liberals listen, however they mean little or nothing.
